TessPat Foundation Hospital was blessed and Commissioned by the Most Rev. Michael Kalu Ukpong, DD, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. The ceremony started with a Eucharistic celebration and dedication of Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel. The bishop, concelebration with about 30 priests consecrated the chapel of the hospital, a sacred space where patients, relatives, staff and friends could have quiet time in prayer while in the hospital.

In his homily, the bishop expressed deep gratitude for the mercy and blessing of God to the people of his diocese by the establishment of this hospital which he described as the biggest in the diocese of Umuahia. He also commended the focused determination and efforts of Sr. Dr. Chilee Okoko who championed the building of the beautiful healthcare facility. A congratulatory message to Sr. Chilee Okoko and the entire sisters of Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy, written by the Most Rev. Gerald Richard Barnes of the Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino, California was read during that mass of blessing and thanksgiving.

After the mass, the bishop with the other clergy also blessed and sprinkled holy water in all the rooms/every part of the hospital facility. All the priests of Abam origin and many of the priests who have served in Sacred Heart parish Abam were present to rejoice and celebrate the Lord's goodness to Abam land/people. Several Religious men and women including the Superior General of the congregation of the Sons of Mary Mother of Mercy, Very Rev. Fr. Christian Okwuru attended the ceremony. The traditional ruler of Ameke Abam, HRH, Eze Robert Nwankwo and a few of Chiefs in council were present to share the joy and also to express their appreciation for the establishment of the hospital in their land.
